Melissa Johnson, Special Instructor

Coming from a large, close family, Melissa knew from a very young age she wanted to help others and work with children.  It was something that was fulfilling and natural.  After her Goddaughter was born 11 weeks premature, the importance of early learning and nurturing became even more important to Melissa.  In 2006, Melissa graduated from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and immediately began her professional career providing in-home services to young children and their families.  After working as a Service Coordinator for Early Intervention, Melissa longed to make a bigger impact and found Amazing Kids to be the perfect fit.  Melissa believes every child is a unique, valuable individual and with respect, guidance, and love they can reach their fullest potential!  Melissa loves to work with all children and families, but holds a special place in her heart for premature babies like her Goddaughter.   Children are her true passion- authentic and genuine individuals.

With professional experience of over a decade, Melissa is able to address many aspects of development and the unique needs of any family.  Some of these trainings and specialties include: Play-Based Therapy, Infant Massage, Myofascial Release I, Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), basic sign language, general sensory-motor techniques, strategies to assist children with or at risk for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), communication/speech and language techniques, education, modeling, and support of positive parenting and behavioral techniques.
