May 2016

It’s been a LONG time since we’ve posted any new information about the company. We have been very busy expanding and moving forward. We are pleased to be offering services to Armstrong/Indiana counties now!!

We have also started a collaboration with “We Care” Pregnancy Center in Punxsutawney, Pa and will now be able to offer Baby Bucks to families receiving services with Amazing Kids. This program allows parents and guardians to earn points towards baby and toddler items that they need. This includes both large and small items as well as diapers. If you are interested in this program, you can contact us at (814) 715-5738 or “We Care” at (814) 938-4024.

We are currently offering Little Learners at the Clarion Free Library every Friday at 10am. This is a semi-structured program giving children a variety of learning opportunities. It is FREE and requires no registration. You do not have to be a client of Amazing Kids. We welcome everyone, but the activities are focused more on infants and toddlers.

We are also offering Little Swimmers at the Brookville YMCA the 2nd Thursday of each month. Swimming begins at 10am-11am, followed by a light snack. If you would like to arrive a few minutes early to change, please do so. Children must be accompanied by an adult in the pool. The upcoming dates for swimming are: May 14, June 9, July 14, and August 11.

Remember that Amazing Kids continues to participate in the TIPP program through Pennsylvania state, and we are able to offer FREE car seat loans. These are brand new carseats that are available at no cost to children who are receiving service through Amazing Kids. These are only offered to children receiving service due to state regulations. If you have concerns regarding your child’s development, you can call Laura at (814) 715-5738 or email at amazingkids@me.com.

You can also find us on Facebook at Amazing Kids or Little Learners to keep up to date on our most recent programs and events.

August 2013

Today, I want to share something that I saw recently. A young couple was in a parking lot getting their infant out of the backseat. Just like any young family…….Only this little guy had a ventilator, suction machine and feeding tube. I watched as they got out their Sit ‘n Stand stroller, loaded the little boy in the front, and all his gear in the back. Genius, pure genius. I went over and told them how impressed I was with their resourcefulness. We talked briefly about Kid Karts, and what a waste they are. Please parents…if your infant or toddler has seating needs, Don’t pick a Kid Kart. There are other options. As this mom stated “it was too hard. It took me forever to put together and was too big”. A Kid Kart costs Thousands, and frankly is not worth it in my opinion. Do yourself a favor, and go find a Sit ‘n Stand stroller. I know this may not be an option for every child, but it might be worth considering.

July 2013

This July, we entered our float in the Brockway 4th of July Celebration, and won 1st Place!!! It was an amazing day with many memories, and I thank everyone who participated.

We had our CPR training day, with most staff and a few guests in attendance. As usual, Troy did an excellent job presenting the material, and we are feeling prepared for the next two years, should the need arise. The potluck lunch was Outstanding, and there was good company all day. I am so proud of my staff, and really enjoy seeing everyone and sharing my space.

We are reaching out in the community, with participation in Art in the Park, Celebration in the Park, weekly playgroup, and sponsoring the FacePainting at Brockway 4th of July.

If you would like to see photos of any of our activities, please visit our Facebook Page.

We are having fun here at Amazing Kids LLC. We have added a new team member, Kristine Lewis. She is a registered and licensed dietician who can help families with weight checks, formula choices, allergy consultations, transitioning from breast/bottle to solid foods, and any other nutritional need families may require.

We had an Amazing day with Penny Lang on 6/11. She presented “I Can Create” to some of our staff at CREATE Cafe. It was a wonderful opportunity to get to know each other and learn more about ourselves as well. We had a delicious lunch at Namaste Center for Well Being courtesy of Mary Ellen Bonavita. I was proud to show Penny beautiful downtown Brookville.

We are continuing our playgroup through the summer, and we are pleased to announce that Justin Parsons will be providing the music for the summer months while Jodie takes a break.
